The most important World Tour Qualifier Series in Europe celebrated the start of the 10th season with the 3* FWT Qualifier & 2* FWT Junior competition. In difficult conditions and weather-related delays, the riders showed their absolute class and offered top-class performances with many "3s" and backflips on the Quellspitze in Kappl/Paznaun.

4*FWQ Silvretta-Montafon - the next stage of the Open Faces is coming up. Many of the best freeriders will be at the start in Montafon (AUT) to qualify for the BIG FWQ FINALS 2022 at this last event before the "qualification cut". The challenging terrain will demand real skills from the freeriders and will offer a spectacular freeride show.

The 3* Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ) of the Open Faces took place on Saturday, Feb. 12th, in the beautiful Alpbachtal (AUT). There the freeriders offered an impressive show with spectacular runs. The Freeride World Tour is ready for its 3rd stop. This will take place in Canada at Kicking Horse Golden BC, (CAN). Alessandro Jossen from Switzerland, tackled a line that was unique on this day. He used the dangerous rocks right at the start for a first 360 into the absolute "no fall zone". Shortly thereafter he followed up on a rock with another even slightly "corked 3" and then a little later used a large cornice for a massive backflip. The polish ski mountaineer Andrzej Bargiel re-wrote history on the K2 (8.611m summit), the infamous Himalayan peak, the world’s second highest mountain. On July 22nd 2018 he summited K2 without oxygen and skied from peak to base without removing his skis – a seemingly impossible challenge which had never been completed before or since. The 60h+ ascent of K2 alone is an extraordinary achievement that pushes even the most experienced and highest skilled mountaineers to their limits.
