Since its first release four winters ago, the Husume has gathered a legion of supporters ranging from professional guides to adventurous weekend warriors globally. The key to the Husume's popularity is that its design excels both as a touring/powder ski and a resort freeride ski. A 109-110mm waist makes it nimble from edge-to-edge when on the groomed, yet skins like a workhorse on ascents in the backcountry and rips powder like a dream. After an award winning winter 2012/13 the Husume is unchanged in 2014. Moderate camber with a mellow early rise tip and tail add increased float without compromising edge grip when it counts. For the off piste focussed, all mountain, backcountry ski connoisseur this ski certainly belongs on the ?skis to own? bucket list. Just ask Backcountry Magazine, they have presented the Husume XTC Carbon ski with their coveted Editor's Choice award for 2013! The Husume is named after a premier backcountry run accessible behind Blackcomb mountain only a few minutes from our factory. XTC Carbon Construction is available as an upgrade to all Husume skis and saves an average of 500 grams (1lb 1oz) off our regular quad glass ski construction while adding additional pop to the skis' overall feel.
