I am just about to buy my first Parabolic Ski, Atomic SX9 from 2004, with a lenght of 160. I am an Expert level skier, ski since 35 years. I love Mogul ski (pretty aggressive) and Hors piste, but also like normal Black and double black diamond without mogul. On the other hand, now at 40 with a knee surgery few years ago, I can no longer do a full day in the mogul with my 190cm Rossignol 4SV.
I did a 2 full day in Whistler last winter in Moguls and Hors piste without any issue with a pair of CrossMax 163cm. Bottom line: I want to buy a pair of Ski that would be very good for my ski style, but also very good in normal ski run for Carving, where ice is part of the game. I'll like to get feedback on the 2004 model, Atomic Sx9. I weight 155 pounds, so apparently this would be an excellent All Terrain ski for my style at a reasonnable price. I need the ski to last years.
thanks for your feedback on that ski and potential other ski I should look at before closing the sale.

I you want to ski in hors piste, I don't think that the Atomic Sx are the best skis of the category for that use. because of their hardness. you'd have to ski pretty fast if you want to use them well there.
But this is really an excellent ski, very efficace on hard snow and solid if you want to ill-treat him.

the Völkl 5 or 6 Stars are much better in deep snow. without being less agressive on the slope.

allez, adieeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!

I have quite the same program as you : I love moguls skiing and off piste, but I don't go very fast on ice and hard snow. And my choice is a freestyle ski : the K2 public enemy which are very good in powder and in moguls. On the "piste" they carve quite well but they are not very good when you go fast : they lack of stability.
Sorry for my english, I hope you'd understand me ;)
