Monster iM88
High Performance Powder/All-Mountain
The iM88 is an all-new wide big-mtn board with a nice modern round shape to the tip and tail. It’s softer, livelier, and more forgiving than the older iM85 it replaces, but still one of the best wide skis on firm snow. Like the iM85, the 88 is not quite fat enough for a true powder ski, but more of an all-mountain ski for experts at big mountains. As expected, excellent carving and stability scores, a damp, ride etc, but our testers also liked its easy turning and relative versatility. This ski has the most sophisticated feel of anything comparable- it just has than great combination of characteristics that expert skiers have always loved about wood-core laminate skis. The iM88 is a great board for bigger guys or skiers who like going fast. One of our testers’s said it was “…the best, most responsive ski at this width.” Another said “…my favorite ski in the category…”.
If you mount this ski with Tyrolia bindings, Head will double the ski warranty to 2 years.
Requires wide brakes.
Compare to the K2 Apache Outlaw, and the Rossi B3, or the Dynastar Legend 8800.
